ABOUT DnD
Why play?
D&D is the most popular tabletop role-playing game on the planet. D&D focuses on storytelling. It was invented by Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson in 1974.
Players form adventuring groups who explore fantasy worlds together as they embark on epic quests and level up in experience. Unlike most other games, there is no set path to take, and characters don’t just progress along spaces on a board. What makes D&D and other roleplaying games unique is that the players improvise to create a story together, and their choices affect what happens next.

The Dungeon Master (also known as the DM) is the game organizer and participant in charge of creating the details and challenges of a given adventure, while maintaining a realistic continuity of events, the game's referee and storyteller.
D&D uses dice in a variety of ways, including combat and skill checks. Dice may be used, for example, to help you decide the outcome of random occurrences.
